What is the Prohibited List?

The Prohibited List is an international standard of the World Anti-Doping Agency identifying the substances and methods that are prohibited in sport. The Prohibited List is maintained by the World Anti-Doping Agency and is updated each year. New substances and/or methods are included on condition that they meet two of the following three criteria:

• the substance or method, alone or in combination with other substances/methods, has the potential to enhance or enhances sport performance; • the use of the substance/method represents an actual or potential health risk to the athlete; • the use of the substance/method violates the spirit of sport.
